It was nice to lay down for a bit of rest before the big day. Mema came to spend the night with us so that she could be there when the girls opened her big present. Christmas actually fell on a Sunday and since our church wasn't offering a nursery we decided to open presents and head to Mom's like usual. The girls got up about 7 a.m., although we actually had to wake Ella up (the breakfast casserole at Mom's isn't any good cold).
Before we even opened presents, I read the letter that Santa had left for the girls. He had taken Zoe back to the North Pole with him. Zoe was the elf that Santa left at our doorstep about a week before Christmas. The girls were to teach Zoe about the real meaning of Christmas and she would report back to Santa about how the girls were behaving.

It was so much fun! I loved seeing the smiles on their faces as they opened the gifts that Santa had brought them. Ella got a LeapPad and Eliza got a pack-n-play and a highchair for her babies from Mommy and Daddy. Santa brought Ella some clothes, a Benji movie, a Wii game, books, Tangled panties, and some other goodies. Santa brought Eliza an Elmo bath toy, a book, some Dora bath stuff, and a MagnaDoodle. Both girls got a Barbie for the bathtub and Santa brought everyone Sooners tshirts! I bought Heath some cologne and he got me a new comforter and 700 thread count sheets.

| A princess shirt for our princess! |
 |
| Not impressed. |
 |
| Her facial expressions are priceless! |

Aunt Jenn and Uncle Drew took Ella shopping to buy Mommy and Daddy
a present. She got her Daddy a Jake and the Neverland Pirates DVD and got us both a
toothbrush and toothpaste to share. :) |
 |
| Priceless. |

Eliza wasn't really interested in opening presents after she discovered the baby stuff.
Ella had to help her a lot. |

| Santa left Eliza some new cups in her stocking! |

 |
| And of course she loves it! |
We stayed in our pajamas but went on to Granny and Poppy's house where we ate breakfast casserole and waited patiently on for Uncle Joel and Aunt Cambria. It was lunchtime before they arrived but we opened presents and ate a delicious lunch (squash casserole until we were sick). Aunt Jenn got Ella and Eliza new sneakers, hats and GAP hoodies. Uncle Joel got Ella some cooking tools and Eliza a FurReal pet bunny. Ella got Clarisse slippers, pajamas, an outfit, and a Tangled game for her LeapPad from Granny and Poppy. They got Eliza some slippers, pajamas, an outfit, a puppy, and two baby dolls (a Granny tradition).
More than the gifts that any of us received, my favorite part of Christmas is the time I get to spend with my family. No amount of money will ever buy the joy I feel when I'm with the ones I love. The smiles and laughs of my daughters is priceless. The hugs from their grandparents are priceless. The gift of a king to an underserving world--priceless.
