This past holiday weekend our small Briscoe family decided to get the heck out of town (even if for only a night or two)! We took our first roadtrip since we have had an addition to our family. We went to Atlanta to visit one of my best friends from college. She has recently bought a beautiful house and we were excited to go see! I was also praying that Ella might see snow again for the second time.
We left Friday evening and got there about 9:30. Eliza did really well, minus a 30 minute stretch of screaming just outside of Macon.
Saturday morning we got up with plans to go to the World of Coke downtown. A very late Comcast technician showed up three hours late so we just decided to go eat and let the kids play at this place called Monkey Joe’s.
It turned out to be the best idea! Ella had a spectacular time and wore herself out. She ran around trying to keep up with her new friend Maddux, Dutch’s (Hannah’s boyfriend) little boy. Kendall (little girl of best bud Amy from college) also partly chased Ella & Maddux and partly did her own thing. Below are some videos from our visit!
Maddux wanted me to video him—this one is soooo cute (just like him)!
Here are a few other videos of Ella enjoying Monkey Joe’s--
Eliza was simply entertained by watching all of the screaming kids running by. She sat almost the entire visit quietly chewing on her raspberry and smiling at everyone.
After Monkey Joe’s we headed home and watched the Falcons game (if you want to call it a game). We made fabulous dip and just hung out.
Sunday morning we headed to IHOP for breakfast. We met Ben, Amy, and Kendall for a delicious pancake breakfast. This is a picture of Maddux holding Eliza!
We headed back to Hannah’s and hung out for awhile. Maddux was kind enough to give Ella and Kendall a ride on his 4wheeler.
Maddux even let Ella drive herself! So much for that bicycle Santa brought her for Christmas… ![]()
My best buds! This is a great pic of the three of us , but I hate the glare that wearing glasses creates! I had to post this one too--hehe!
Mrs. Barbara and Hannah’s Gran came by and visited after church. They are both so sweet and I love them! We left about 1 o’clock because Heath had to work on Monday.
Ella and Eliza both fell asleep just outside of Atlanta and slept until Hazlehurst. Whoa! It was awesome except for the fact that we wanted to stop and eat Olive Garden in Macon. But ya’ll know how precious naptime is…
We had a great time visiting our friends. I hope it’s not another year until we see them all again!!!!
